Assassin’s Creed movie trailer ignites the action
If you weren’t stoked to see the Assassin’s Creed movie before, you may want to sit down.
Last night, Jimmy Kimmel debuted the world premiere trailer (via a deliveryman) for 20th Century Fox’s Assassin’s Creed, based on the popular Ubisoft open-world video game. The film stars Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Apocalypse and its predecessors) as Death Row inmate Callum Lynch, who shares a heritage with an assassin active during the Spanish Inquisition, Aguilar.
As you can see from the trailer, it appears that Marion Cotillard (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) will be working for Abstergo Industries as Sophia Rikkin. Rikkin places Lynch into the Animus, a machine that allows the user to relive past memories of their ancestors.
When Lynch is active in the Animus, we are treated to several shots of the typical Assassin’s Creed rooftop parkour, along with the famous “eagle” dives used during gameplay.
We also catch a glimpse of Ariane Labed, who plays Maria, an assassin in 15th century Spain. Other notable cast members in the film include Jeremy Irons as Alan Rikkin, Brendan Gleeson as Callum’s father, and Michael K. Williams as Moussa.
Assassin’s Creed: The Movie has a release date of December 21st, 2016. To view more stills of the film and star Michael Fassbender, check out my recent article.
