Broadway What the World Needs NowHas there ever been such a star-studded video for such a wonderful cause?

SiriusXM Radio host Seth Rudetsky and his husband, producer James Wesley, organized a brilliant ensemble of Broadway legends, rising stars, and Tony Award winners to produce a cover of Burt Bacharach’s “What the World Needs Now is Love.”  The single (now available on iTunes and BroadwayRecords.com for purchase) will directly benefit the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida.

The video features Sara Bareilles, Kristen Bell, Wayne Brody, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Gloria Estefan, Fran Drescher, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Whoopi Goldberg, Sean Hayes, Nathan Lane, Idina Menzel, Jessie Mueller, Audra McDonald, Carole King, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mathew Broderick, Rosie Perez, Bernadette Peters, and more.  The theatrical chorus assembled on June 15th to record at Avatar Studios in New York City.

According to Rudetsky:

“The Broadway community was so terribly shaken and devastated by the horrific tragedy in Orlando.  Everyone wanted to do something as quickly as possible that would truly make a difference.”
