‘Hamilton’ cast remixes opening number with Sweeney Todd

Watch as the ‘Hamilton’ cast performs homage to Sweeney Todd


Attend the tale of Alexander Hamil-todd.  At the annual Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Easter Bonnet competition, the cast of Hamilton remixed the opening number of their show with “The Ballad of Sweeney Todd.”  The performers,  led by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Daveed Diggs, and Renee Elise Goldsberry , rapped lyrics inspired from the Stephen Sondheim classic as Miranda swung his razor high centerstage.

At the competition, the cast was awarded Best Presentation and Most Money Raised.  All in all, the shows involved were able to raise a total of $5,528,568 over six week. All of the money will benefit the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS foundation.  To read more about the competition, hop on over to Playbill.com.
